The Plains of Lucca, which also takes the name of Lucchesìa, consists of a flat area that stretches around the city of Lucca. The territory is bounded to the west and south-west by Monti Pisani, north from south-eastern propaggini delle Alpi Apuane mountains and the Group of the Tuscan-Emiliano called "Pizzorne", east of the massive hill of Montalbano, while south-east of Cerbaie modest hills that separate the Plains of Lucca from Valdarno lower.
The area includes the flat in the eastern province of Lucca with the territories of Capannori, Porcari, Altopascio and Monte Carlo, to reach the boundaries of the Province of Pistoia, in the Valdinievole.
