Borgo a Mozzano Media rises in the Serchio Valley. This territory was particularly concerned by the Gothic Line that passed in this very point. During 1944 the Allied armies in Italy is arrested in front of the Gothic Line, a German defensive line, covering about 320 km, finding its origins in Magra river valley until you reach the Adriatic coast between Pesaro and Rimini.
